VISUALIZATION

Here's what I came up with on 0207, for February's Visualization:

Thoughts about what my visualization for today (and February) might be:

*  Tighter skin
*  Healthy teeth & gums
*  More muscle
*  Safe and courteous driver
*  Rapid reader with retention
*  Wealthy

Noticing that all of the above are about me.  I'd like to visualize a better me as I relate to others:

*  More loving
*  More giving
*  Quicker understanding about what others are going through
*  More compassion
*  Better memory so I can relate to others better

For the rest of this month of February, I'll do:

60 seconds each:

SAFE AND COURTEOUS DRIVER

Did 60 seconds.

MORE LOVING

Did 60 seconds.

EXERCISE

Did my full SUNDAY 30 day routine:

  1. ankle/wrist circles 60
  2. toe/finger stretches 60 + 10
  3. bicycle crunches 60
  4. shoulder rolls 60
  5. inversion table 3 1-min sets
  6. squats 30
  7. push-ups 30
READING, WRITING

Read 60 seconds + in SURVIVAL CHINESE by Boye Lafayette De Mente

De Mente is trying to make learning Chinese (Mandarin) as easy for English-speakers as possible.  So far, it's quite confusing to me.  60 seconds a day will not get me there.

But I'll plug along, push forward until I get better than I am today.

My life will be changing in 2 weeks.  I might leave for the 30 days (Utah, China) and come back to no work, and therefore will possibly need to find a part time job other than working for J Pruitt.

But we shall see.

Possibilities include:

1.  RED HAT:  Joe offering me the equivalent to Dr. P's PT job.
2.  TIMPSON ENTERPRISES:  David TImpson finally coming through with the mine deal.
3.  HUMAN DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES:  Continuing to work PT for Joe Pruitt
4.  DAN'S LIST:  anything is possible

We shall see, come April 1.

20190207 SAVERS RESUMING AT LEAST FOR TODAY THURSDAY

SILENCE

(Doing it now)
Tried to silence my brain for 60 seconds.  Not easy.  Decided to list the thoughts I've had during the attempt:

  1. Counting - laying out my arms & hands as a "clock" to make sure I've done a minimum of 60 seconds.
  2. Thoughts dropping from my brain down to my body, like brown leaves.
  3. I should do this first thing upon waking; now, I'm aware of the furnace fan blowing, and of my left foot soaking (toenail).
  4. (don't recall any other thoughts I had during the 60 seconds)

READING, WRITING

Read for 60 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that post-Agricultural Revolution, (i.e, ___________ years ago), and until more modern times, people in tribes often met with violent deaths.  Something like 15 to 35 to even 50 per cent of people died violently.

Am I imagining things?  Or is Harari only begrudgingly admitting that these violent deaths were brought under greater control by societal evolution?

I think that our society today is not what most of us would like:  peaceful, and non-violent.

But I think that it's impossible to achieve that goal without all of us buying into it.  Saying "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me" will not in itself produce the desired result.  We must also, regrettably, FORCE others to comply.  In a free society & democracy such as the USA & Western Europe, we must necessarily expect that some evil people will choose to be violent.  But with that realization, we must also preserve the freedoms we desire.

Yes, there are laws against violence, and punishments for those who are violent.  But the greater idea - freedom - I think should occupy a greater presence in our thoughts and actions.

Enough.
