20180520 THE 6 MINUTE MIRACLE MORNING - SAVERS

Imagine that the first six minutes of every morning begins like this…
Minute One… (Silence)
Imagine waking up in the morning, and instead of rushing carelessly into your hectic day—feeling stressed and overwhelmed—imagine that you instead spend the first minute sitting in purposeful Silence. You sit, very calm, very peaceful, and you breathe deeply, slowly. Maybe you say a prayer of gratitude to appreciate the moment, or pray for guidance on your journey. Maybe, you decide to try your first minute of meditation. As you sit in silence, you’re totally present in the now, in the moment. You calm your mind, relax your body, and allow all of your stress to melt away. You develop a deeper sense of peace, purpose, and direction…
Minute Two… (Affirmations)
You pull out your daily Affirmations—the ones that remind you of your unlimited potential and your most important priorities—and you read them out loud from top to bottom. As you focus on what’s most important to you, your level of internal motivation increases. Reading over the reminders of how capable you really are, gives you a feeling of confidence. Looking over what you’re committed to, what your purpose is, and what your goals are re-energizes you to take the actions necessary to live the life you truly want, deserve, and now know is possible for you…
Minute Three… (Visualization)
You close your eyes, or you look at your vision board, and you visualize. Your Visualization could include your goals, what it will look and feel like when you reach them. You visualize the day going perfectly, see yourself enjoying your work, smiling and laughing with your family, or your significant other, and easily accomplishing all that you intend to accomplish for that day. You see what it will look like, you feel what it will feel like, and you experience the joy of what you will create…
Minute Four… (Scribing)
Imagine, pull out your journal, and in your journal, you take a minute to write down what you’re grateful for, what you’re proud, and the results you’re committed to creating for that day. Doing so, you put yourself in an empowered, an inspired, and confident state of mind.
Minute Five… (Reading)
Then, you grab your self-help book and invest one miraculous minute reading a page or two. You learn a new idea, something that you can implement into your day. You discover something new that you can use to feel better—to be better.
Minute Six… (Exercise)
Finally, you stand up and you spend the last minute, doing jumping jacks for 60 seconds and getting your heart rate up and getting energized and waking yourself up and increasing your ability to be alert and to focus.
How would YOU feel if that’s the 6-minute you started your day with? How would the quality of your day—your life—improve?

20180520 THE 2ND "S" IN "SAVERS"

The 2nd S is "SCRIBE"

I'm here in the morning, rather than lamenting the lack of word from David re the David Deal (i.e., the MINE), I'm going to practice Automatic Writing for 1 minute:

The main thing I'd like to communicate is a sense of well being.  To myself and to my family.  But when I begin, I almost always wonder how it will be received, and whether it will really make a difference.  But since I'm not doing NOTHING, I feel like it's a good thing.

(1 minute is over)

Wow - that's a very short time to write.  But I'll keep doing it.

Tomorrow will be another MM day, and there will be another "2nd S" time - SCRIBE.

20180514 YESTERDAY DAVID SAID TOMORROW

Yeah, right.

Tschume died in Ghana; Michael says Thatcher doesn't know, and if he knew, there'd likely be unending delay.

But still..... why should we think that Michael's prediction of "Tuesday" (i.e., tomorrow) is accurate.  He's been wrong for several YEARS!!

I'm not holding my breath.

The prospect of staying with Dr. Pruitt longer than NOW.... is so very depressing.

But even more, it's so sad to think that David & I could have been working for YEARS together already.  And all we have to show for the "wait" is an increase in our ability to wait.

Saturday, May 12, 2018

20180512 JOE'S BIRTHDAY; STILL NO DAVID DEAL; NOW REGGIE HAS DIED

In fact, it's even WORSE than we (David et al, and I) were thinking.

One of the rich guys (the one with billions), Reggie Tschume, who LIVED in Ghana, has died at age 61.  I'm sorry he died, but I'm also angry.

Now, the "David Deal" will likely be delayed indefinitely.

And that means that our dream (DT & me working together) is likely gone.

SOOOOOO very sad today.

But I'm with my 4 grandchildren, who are almost constantly fighting each other over video games and other sibling squabbles...... that I'm depressed.  Not to mention the sadness I'm feeling about Joe and Chrissy.

I'm trying to recall some funny stuff that I was going to "use" with the kids, but it just won't come back to me.  Damn brain!  Never seems to work to my advantage when I want it to.

AND....... it's SNOWING here.  In mid-MAY!!!!!!!  I can't believe it.  There's an unusual storm flowing through Utah right now - So the nice Spring weather they were having here is gone, and will be while I'm here.

I know - I know.  I'm looking for all the bad things.  But I'm banking on the idea that if I write them, I'll feel better.

So before I quit, here are some more.  (Then I'll switch to counting my blessings).

Diverticulitis.  Completed treatment, and within days, I had more pains in my colon.

George.  He's suffering in Cyprus.  I feel helpless to help him.

Financial.  I'm STILL trying to manage my retirement..... and for now, that means watching every dollar.  I really HATE this.

The valet at Dr. Pruitt's building scraped my car, but the management are saying they didn't. ($675)

Toenail, I having treated it for almost a year now, does not seem to be improving.

We have a complete IDIOT in the White House, who dominates the daily news like a bad cold that won't go away.

And now, today, I have a 40-year-old son.  Joe is hurting, and he's also depressed about his life.

So....... now the good stuff:
  1. I'm alive & relatively healthy.  Body is slowing down, but still works well.
  2. My son and DIL are both employed, making reasonably good money.
  3. My 4 Utah grandchildren are healthy, going to school, enjoying most aspects of their lives (2 older boys play soccer, Ada is in a play).
  4. California daughter & fam are also doing well.
  5. I have George, a wonderful man "in my life" (he's "stuck" in Cyprus) who shows me great affection; and I have feelings of caring & longing & even love for him.
  6. I'm employed (I like that I'm earning income & helping unfortunate people)
  7. My car passed the smog test without the replacement of my 2 catalytic converters (approx. $1500)

Now, I'm trying to recall the funny stuff I was going to share with my grandkids.

I REMEMBERED!!!!!!!

I went on line and tried to prod my memory with funny stuff people say to their grandkids, etc.  I waded through a ton of famous people's one-liners, lists of things grandparents say or do, etc.....

I gave up, put my hands to my face and sighed.  And then.......

I REMEMBERED!!!!!!!!

Kath used to say these things when we were teenagers in Vienna:

"Watch out for that cliff" ---  "What cliiiiiiiiiifffffffffff"

"Watch out for that dip" ---- "What di-uh-ip?"

"Watch out for that string" ----- "What string - wing - wing - wing....."

I thought of them the other day, and said to myself "these would be fun to share with Joe & Chrissy's kids."

And then I forgot them.  Until......

I REMEMBERED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life seems tough for me - I can't recall things all that readily.  I have to focus and spend a lot of time trying.  It usually doesn't work.

But today......

I REMEMBERED!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully I can recall them later today when we're together.  (they're all sleeping now)

When I was thinking about these the other day, my mind drifted to some sayings that I shared in scouts in Vienna - mostly with Doug Kuhn:

"Would somebody please open the elevator door?"  (hands on face)

"Has anyone seen my toothbrush?  (or soupspoon)"  (fingers stretching neck skin)

"Madam, would you please move your umbrella?"  (finger pulling down on corner of eye, followed by finger pulling down corner of mouth, and "Thank you.")

These might be good for the kids on this trip.  If I can remember them.

*sigh*
