20250222 SLLLAVERS FOR SATURDAY - NOT D-$DAY, AND I, KEN TAYLOR, ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING I NEEED!!!!!!!

Yesterday I was in a funk, and had not slept well all Friday night/Saturday morning.


From somewhere, I summoned the energy and courage to get up & do my whole routine on Saturday morning.

Somehow, I was able to conclude that WHETHER OR NOT there was any word from David, I'd activate my "DO NOT DISTURB" mode on my phone, and focus on my routine (the physical part, anyway).

And I DID that.

And I felt better.

During my sleepless hours on Friday/Saturday night, I reminded myself that in spite of my many failures in my academic and professional periods, there was some good that has come of my efforts.

I need not list here the list of failures nor the list of achievements.  I will simply state that my focus is now on my on-going achievement projects (e.g., learning how to play the piano well).

After I did my exercises for Saturday morning (I did NOT list them here), I saw that I had heard from David, and that there would likely be money flowing by "soon," meaning early this week.

We shall see.

But this time is different.  I have concluded that WHETHER OR NOT the expected funds arrive, I will be focused on my current projects (exercise, piano, reading).

So now it's Sunday morning, and I'll record today's achievements in the next post.

Read in THE BOOK OF AWAKENING by Mark Nepo, with George; discussed the "have" and "have not" scenarios of life.  I recalled filling a bowl of Vienna cherries with Peggy; she counselled me on how I would be more satisfied if I filled the entire bowl, rather than just quitting the job when I grew bored.

I'm being more conscientious about my sleep & meditation & exercise habits of late.  I go to sleep at 11 (latest) WITH TAPE, and WITH MASK, and wake up at 5 AM; 6 hours seem to fill the bill.
If I brush/floss/brush at night, and tape & mask and sleep for 6 hours..... I seem to have the energy & wakefulness I need during the day.
And, I don't have as much ache & pain as I do otherwise.  It's a function of how much sleep I get, and what/how much I eat.

20250204 SLLLAVERS FOR TUESDAY - NOT D$-DAY YET, AND I, KEN TAYLOR, ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED!!!!!!!

Although I remind myself almost every day that "I, KEN TAYLOR, ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED!!!!!!!," I am more and more focused on how my life will change once D$-DAY finally arrives.

Right now, we're estimating February 15, but I'm daring to think it could be earlier.

I did a routine this morning that I'd call 25% physical, 100% PIANO:  I did approx 20/80 of my reps, but I spent a full 45 minutes practicing the piano.

Silence, Gratitude Review, Breathing, Meditation, Affirmation, Visualization (I'm 204 lbs today).  Saving reading for when George and I talk.

20250201 (RABBIT! RABBIT! RABBIT!) NOT D$-DAY (BUT DAMN CLOSE!), AND I, KEN TAYLOR, ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED!!!!!!!

In conversations with David, I am aware that the ACANDA mine deal is VERY CLOSE to CLOSING.

So..... we're VERY CLOSE TO D$-DAY.

And I will continue to remind myself EVERY DAY that I already have everything I need.


But...... it's not wrong to do some planning.  So...... after DT tells me a definitive amount, I will make specific plans.  But he's now only guessing that it will be about $50K.  We both need to consider cash flow, tax issues, interest rates.... etc.


AND.... I must say I thought this day would have come 10 years ago.

READING:

Read THE BOOK OF AWAKENING by Mark Nepo; he says for January 31:  BREATHING is the lowest risk, but it's the content of living.  Or something like that.  For decades, I've met others who talk about how important it is to focus on breathing.  Miss Head (English teacher in Austria) announced that she would be teaching us how to breathe properly (she never did).  A metaphysical sort once taught me how to breathe in/out in a smooth uninterrupted circle, with the goal of making it all the same thing - I.e., no abrupt change between inhaling and exhaling.  And during someone's yoga class, we were taught how to breathe in through the nose, and out through the mouth.  With my CPAP machine in place and some tape over my mouth, I do breathe better while sleeping, and usually wake up with an increased amount of energy.

In this book, almost every exercise (if not, every exercise) contains an intensive breathing exercise, with the goal of doing it naturally while meditating.

Since today IS February 1st, I also read what Nepo says for February 1st:  He says that interruptions in our lives are actually opportunities to think, to rethink, to feel, to refeel, etc.  We humans generally don't like to be interrupted, especially of we're doing something that needs a lot of focus.  But even then, we should sit back and let the time slow down, so that we can evaluated anew, and with each breath, be reborn into a new moment.
