Three of my pretty close friends completely ignored/forgot my 75th birthday.  David, Bill, and Paul.  I felt hurt about it - especially David - for a while, and now I'm over it, mostly.  When I consider how my friends treat me, I would have guessed that they'd have called/remembered, as they have for many years.

But maybe I just haven't been as good a friend to them as I thought I was being.

Those who DID remember:  Patricia, Peggy, Jack, Joe & family, Lisa & family, and Joe Pruitt.

Oh well, what does it all mean?  What does it say about me that I feel the need to write all this?

Partly, I think I'm afraid of being totally alone.  But only partly.  I'm greatly blessed.

  1. ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE.  5.8 million Americans have it; 1/10 in people over 65; cause believed to be abnormal deposits - "amyloid plaque" - along with tangled bundles of fibers called "tau."  Signs of AD show up decades before symptoms:  memory loss, difficulty understanding & completing familiar tasks, decreased judgment, among other problems.

  7. STROKE.  Similar to "traumatic brain injury (see "4. Today's my 75th birthday. I've made it past my father's age when he died. In 2 years, I'll have reached my mother's age when she died.

I feel like I'm in better health than they were, although I'm kind of tired today - more tired than usual for this time of the day. Mom was made of "strong stuff." Dad was too, but I'm thinking not as strong as Mom.

I've followed a routine of healthy diet and exercise (but not every day) for the last few years (began in May, 2018, so for last 7 years).

Since today's a "landmark" birthday - 3/4 of a century - I've been wondering if anyone will remind me: actually, Patricia sent a card mentioning my 75th, and Sikoki & Richard also sent a card with a huge "75" on the front.

But other than that, nothing; nothing from the family or close friends.

Oh well.... I could say "It's just another day."

But I keep wondering if my being so tired lately is some kind of sign that I'm sick, or aging, or both.

Strange how things go. I went to bed at 9:30-10:00 last night, and I slept thru without waking till 4:45 AM, so about 7 hours total.

I felt fine this morning, and was not excited about doing my routine, but I "just did it." I don't know what motivated me to do it. I went all the way thru it to the "Reading, Writing" point, and then GG called.

I'm glad I did it, but I'm bewildered about what motivated me. Was it a "defense mechanism?" If so, was it because of the no-good day I had yesterday (Rodney, Chrissy, political crises, Pruitt dilemma, etc.) Or was it just sort of carrying on, filling the time slots..... I don't know.

Anyway, Im glad I did what I did.

WHAT MAKES ME SLEEPY/TIRED???????????????
