I'm lighter & happier today.
David texted me to say I could deposit the check he'd given me 2 days earlier, a check based on an advance from Michael Harrington, who is now (according to David) "100% sure that the money will start flowing by January 3-5."
Well, I have new money in the bank, and now it's going to be easier to do so many things I've been putting off.
I suppose I should hold off telling EVERYone. But I just HAD to tell Joe & Chrissy. Which I did today.
Joe and I hugged, and I told him more than I'd told him before.
This.... is.... the..... start...... of something..... GREAT!
I hope it all goes forward without further delay. But who knows?
The lighter feeling of today is all I need to carry me through to 2017. I will now NOT partially cash in my 401K at Fidelity. And I will now NOT be forced to sell the house in Alta Loma.
I'm so pleased. So very pleased.

20161223 FRIDAY D DAY?
Well, I've tossed and turned, except when I was asleep last night.
All is NOT well.
I lied.
And typing this, I fear, might somehow "excuse" the lie. But there is no excuse for a blatant lie.
I lied to Joe Pruitt about his 21" iMac. I tried for several days to fix it (it won't reboot normally). So yesterday, when I was trying to fix it before I left for Christmas time off, I did all that the Apple rep told me to do. But I came down to the "end" of my day (around 7 pm), and when I did the final thing, the computer still would not boot up normally.
WITHOUT THINKING IT THROUGH....... I decided to tell (and DID tell) Dr. Pruitt that it DID work normally, that I had reverted to an earlier version of the OS. The TRUTH is..... I was unable to revert to the earlier version, I think, and I was unable to boot up for some as yet unknown reason.
The Apple lady said, "if this doesn't work, then it's very likely a hardware issue" - and you'll have to take it to a store.
But, she added, if I do that, I should back it up before so doing.
I did not have, or take the time, to do the backup.
I DID NOT THINK IT THROUGH.
Had I THOUGHT IT THROUGH, I would have:
1. Taken the time to back the computer up
2. Told Dr. Pruitt that it's a hardware issue, and that we'll have to take it to an APPLE store.
THEN.... I would not be plagued with these thoughts of being a LIAR.
But no.... I did not do that. I lied.
So now..... I should be getting ready for my Christmas vacation. I wish I hadn't lied.
I WISH I HADN'T SPONTANEOUSLY LIED.
I don't know why I do that. Perhaps it's a force of habit.
Perhaps it's just my nature.
But there's more.
Dr. Pruitt gave me a brochure about a 1-day workshop about the psychology of sex. He thought I'd like to know that he's likely going to attend. So I glanced over the brochure when I had the time, and thought, "Dr. Pruitt says I 'never read anything.' I'd better read it in greater detail." So I did. And I could see all the kinky subjects, etc. Then I put the brochure on his desk, and forgot about it.
Later, he was talking about other things, and picked up the brochure and asked me what I thought about it. I replied, WITHOUT THINKING IT THROUGH....... again....... that I thought it should be a fun workshop, and I asked him which session he was planning on going to. I asked this while thinking that he'd reply, "the kinky one, of course." But no..... he again put me down by saying, "How could you be wondering which session I'm interested in?"
Uh-oh. I blew it again. "It's only a 1-day workshop. There are no 'sessions'," he said.
I picked up the brochure and said, "I thought there were different sessions." I showed him where, in the brochure, information made me think that.
"It's a 1-day workshop," he said definitely, and dropped the matter by turning to other things.
I felt, as I usually do with him, inadequate and marginalized. But I dropped it, too. And happily so.
Now..... why did I bother to detail this sex brochure discussion? Because it points out the following:
1. I HATE the relationship I now have with Dr. Pruitt, and I can't wait to leave his employ.
2. I have some flaws, or inadequacies, which are:
a. I don't think things through before I interact with others.
b. I tend to lie to cover up my inadequacy.
c. I get impatient with someone (e.g. Dr. Pruitt) who gets impatient with me.

20161221 WEDNESDAY WRITINGS
Although my title is alliterative, the actual sounds of the words beginning with "w" do not lend themselves to traditional ear pleasing alliteration.
Et alors......?
Today I feel better. I've done my meditation routine and my physical exercise and my affirmations. So that's something that usually gives me a "good feeling." I'm keeping the exercise light, so I don't feel any soreness or pain.
But through it all (over the last 31+ days - I've skipped a few), I am led to wonder if it's worth it all. I keep accurate records of my affirmations. I've done my spiritual & physical routines for so long that I think I never - yes, never - miss an element of them.
So then, is it worth it? Am I actually IMPROVING my life? So many thoughts.....
A race against time (aging).
An effort to build muscle & rid myself of fat.
A hope that my body is internally & externally healthy.
A hope that my maladies, irregularities, imperfections, etc.... will dissipate. (e.g., my chronic sinusitis & coughing)
An effort to feel better physically, and thus feel better mentally & emotionally.
An effort to establish some clear trends, and facts, and purposes regarding my life.
An effort to assimilate, recall and utilize important information.
Enough for now. Perhaps I can expand & clarify the above. Seems important.
Butt... right now, my butt is sore from sitting up in bed. So I'm going to move around and get some healthy food for breakfast.

20161220 BOB'S BIRTHDAY, OTHER STUFF
I could not bring myself to title this post "..... and OTHER SHIT"
But that's what it is.
It's Bob's birthday today, and he would have been 81 years old today, so he's been gone for 9 years.
He had dementia/Alzheimer's - I think.
Anyway, I'm more like him than I'm like any other of my brothers, so it scares me to think I'll have a similar path toward death.
I'm just not smart. I have thought I was smart over the years, but yesterday's experience with Dr. Pruitt tells me that I'm not.
He was drunk, granted. But that doesn't mean he wasn't telling the truth. He told me I might have "cognitive loss."
That's news to me. Google says that it could be a precursor to dementia & Alzheimers. Oh well.
I AM smart about some things. I know that.
But when I read or listen to exposes about life (philosophy, history, religion, etc.), the messages don't sink in much. I have to go over them 3-4 times..... not to review & opine, but simply to assimilate the messages.
Why?????? I'm not a good reader, or I would have already read all my books. I thought I'd teach myself to speed read. The podcasters (Ross & Carrie) say that "speed reading" is something of a hype or hoax. I believe that they say (if I remember correctly) that we're all readers at the speed that's comfortable for us. Whatever.
I've noticed that other people, even people who I consider "dumber than I am," will not have to read something more than once to "get it." Dr. Pruitt gives me something to read, and he does not allow me to complete it, let alone contemplate it.
Dr. Pruitt once said that during his early educational years, he had someone (a mentor?) who taught him how to think. And how to read.
I had no such person. I was essentially alone, trying to keep up, trying to teach myself how to read faster, and how to assimilate the messages. I would reason that each word I was reading was chosen for a purpose, and that each sentence had a purpose. And each paragraph. I would parse the sentences, changing them to outline form, so that I might..... MIGHT...... retain the message longer. Long enough to make it useful.
When others discuss literature, they'll often recall reading things in High School or college, and they'll mention the name of the book, the author, the characters, AND what they thought of the writing, AND whether they LIKE the author's work, AND whether they think it has relevance to some issue today.
WHAT????????
I can barely recall which Shakespeare plays I read in High School.
I was not into it all. I think I DID appreciate a lot of it. But I was always saying (subconsciously, perhaps) that THIS (i.e., my educational pursuits) was temporary. IF I ever need this information later on, I can LOOK IT UP. I need not memorize it.
Some things have stayed with me. But apparently those things are of small import in today's life.... mine or my surrounding fellow human beings' lives.
And some have said "You have a good memory" to me. HA!
Dr. Pruitt also said I was "forgetful" and that I had a poor memory. He's right. I was careless about his Curriculum Vita (resume). I left 2 typos in before printing, and HE caught them. He claims that I have some mental problem since I would not otherwise have been so careless.
I was frankly HORRIFIED when I saw the errors, but I kept that to myself.
During an earlier episode with Dr. Pruitt (I'll call it the "keys episode"), I told him that I felt even more bad about having left the keys on the dining room table (they were supposed to be in his dresser bowl, or handed to him). He responded by saying "so do I" and later by saying, "Why don't you just apologize for your error, and tell me you won't do it again?" OK, he wants an apology.
So THIS time (i.e., the "typos episode"), I did just that. I apologized, and said I'd be more careful next time. But ...... guess what! Dr. Pruitt did not accept that as being a correct response. He said, "I'm not looking for an apology. I want to know why you did it." (owtte) So then he launched into the idea that I might have "cognitive loss." He said if I did, he'd like to help me with it. I denied that there was anything wrong with my mental capacity or processes. But I don't know for sure, of course.
I don't like to admit to being weak, or flawed.
So, since he was drunk, I decided to "humor him" and just let him "ride it out" until he was himself again.
Wow! This is certainly NOT what I want to be doing now. I expected to be gone 2+ years ago! But I'm still there, because I still have hope for David's Deal coming through. When/if it does, I can exit Dr. Pruitt's life with another reason to leave than "I CAN'T STAND BEING HERE ANY LONGER."
So, I'll wait for David's call. Today.

my dreams of an easy life (financially) are gone.
And I have to think about continuing to work for Dr. Pruitt, for probably about 3-4 months more. I don't think I can take him longer than that.

I was not into it all. I think I DID appreciate a lot of it. But I was always saying (subconsciously, perhaps) that THIS (i.e., my educational pursuits) was temporary. IF I ever need this information later on, I can LOOK IT UP. I need not memorize it.
Some things have stayed with me. But apparently those things are of small import in today's life.... mine or my surrounding fellow human beings' lives.
And some have said "You have a good memory" to me. HA!
Dr. Pruitt also said I was "forgetful" and that I had a poor memory. He's right. I was careless about his Curriculum Vita (resume). I left 2 typos in before printing, and HE caught them. He claims that I have some mental problem since I would not otherwise have been so careless.
I was frankly HORRIFIED when I saw the errors, but I kept that to myself.
During an earlier episode with Dr. Pruitt (I'll call it the "keys episode"), I told him that I felt even more bad about having left the keys on the dining room table (they were supposed to be in his dresser bowl, or handed to him). He responded by saying "so do I" and later by saying, "Why don't you just apologize for your error, and tell me you won't do it again?" OK, he wants an apology.
So THIS time (i.e., the "typos episode"), I did just that. I apologized, and said I'd be more careful next time. But ...... guess what! Dr. Pruitt did not accept that as being a correct response. He said, "I'm not looking for an apology. I want to know why you did it." (owtte) So then he launched into the idea that I might have "cognitive loss." He said if I did, he'd like to help me with it. I denied that there was anything wrong with my mental capacity or processes. But I don't know for sure, of course.
I don't like to admit to being weak, or flawed.
So, since he was drunk, I decided to "humor him" and just let him "ride it out" until he was himself again.
Wow! This is certainly NOT what I want to be doing now. I expected to be gone 2+ years ago! But I'm still there, because I still have hope for David's Deal coming through. When/if it does, I can exit Dr. Pruitt's life with another reason to leave than "I CAN'T STAND BEING HERE ANY LONGER."
So, I'll wait for David's call. Today.

my dreams of an easy life (financially) are gone.

20161219 MONDAY MORNING BLAHS
Rough weekend.
It was "rough" as far as my state of mind goes.
The "Ides of December" came and went. BLAH.
I became depressed over that. BLAH.
I didn't do my routine/affirmations (after doing 1/2 of the routine on Friday morning)..... until now, reasoning (or NOT reasoning, rather) that since David's Deal did not come as expected, I would now have to face the weekend with no news, and no money.
BLAH.
So I was depressed, and my thoughts turned to sex, which is fun temporarily, but usually leads to depression over my out-of-shape body and my age. I set myself up with a local guy who asked for (and got) pics from me... and then didn't even say anything. When I asked him to at least say "yea" or "nay," he did: Nay.
I asked for it, so I shouldn't complain. Perhaps he did me a favor by slapping me around until I realize that I'm not that handsome or desirable, like I was a few years back.
It could be a "message" from the Universe telling me to move on to mostly adult things, and to leave behind me more "boyhood" things.
And then.... there's other guys who don't judge, and who accept me as I am.
Lately, Ruben. Andy (the Doctor), sui_generis, and the masseur (25, very cute).
So they all represent "boyhood" sexual things. But I am not called upon, am I, to give up 100% of my childhood things? No.
Until and unless my Creator/God communicates to me a message that I must change, I will not change. Rather, I will enjoy. This puts the responsibility on C/G. I've had ENOUGH responsibility for searching for the truth in my lifetime. I must "retire" from that, and enjoy my retirement. I will do more fun things, and try to stay in shape while I do them.
And David's Deal? I still hope for it, but I am now planning on PLAN B to take effect January 1st.

PAY CC off: Withdraw $40K ($30K for CC debt, $10K to save for taxes, cushion, living expenses, etc.) from 401K
REFI AL House: After CC debt is paid, apply for refi at WFB, 2 other banks, using Dr. P's job as source of income. Decide, process refi..
WORK with Dr. Pruitt indefinitely.
Now, on to affirmations for today.

Affirmations done, and I feel slightly better (less BLAH). But today is a new day, full of promise and forboding.
I don't know if/when David's Deal will come through, but at least I've thought through what I'll do IF.
PLAN A (i.e., David's Deal) - relax & enjoy life more.
PLAN B (i.e., cash in 401K) - continue TRYING to relax and enjoy life more.
So.....I said I'd evaluate how I am.... after I'd done my routine/affirmations for TODAY.
So..... I am not disposed to "catch up" the lost opportunity of the weekend. But at least I will say this: I plan on doing my routine/affirmations all this week, and will continue them into the weekend. IN SPITE OF IT BEING A HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!

20161215 THE IDES OF DECEMBER - DD DAY?
So, yesterday was NOT DD Day, although I did get a message from David that a copy of the Singapore "swift" (HA!) is in the possession of Michael. I suppose that means that money is in transit. Michael also added that he'd have "solid news from the UK" TODAY. That, of course, can mean anything.
So, we shall see.
Again.
I really wish I could move on with this. It's dragging me down a LOT.
Perhaps I should resign myself to waiting indefinitely. I hope I don't DIE before the money comes.
Or perhaps I should just move on with my "Plan B"
To review, Plan B is:
Wait until Jan 1st (for income tax & penalty reasons)
Withdraw $30K from 401K to pay off credit cards.
Apply for refi at WFB & 2 other banks, based on HDA income.
If unsuccessful, sell house.
Live in austerity mode indefinitely.
*sigh* again.
We shall see.
