VISUALIZATION


This morning, I am disappointed to weigh in at over 200 pounds; it's because of the chocolate/raisin/yogurt "trail mix" along with the final 1/2 or so of a carton of potato salad, all of which I ate last night.  Grrrrrr to myself!!!!!!


I still realize that I have approximately 5 weeks (less 10 days) until I leave for Europe.  I'm STILL bothered by my protruding gut, and I'm STILL about 10-15 pounds heavier than I'd like to be.  SO......

Today's a FAST DAY.


I'm continuing my plan for the next 12 days.  I hope to resume losing an average of 1/2 pound every day (10 pounds in 20 days), by continuing the following regimen:



EXERCISE

  • FAST DAYS (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

5:00 - 5:45  1/2 routine

5:45 - 6:30  PIANO

                6:30 - 7:00 2/2 routine

  • SLOW DAYS (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Later - Full routine

Later - 1 Hour Piano

Visit Gym?

DAY 1010

I made it to "Day 9” (i.e., 20240520)!!!!!  YAY!!!!!



My new program to lose weight before my trip to Europe next month, consists of the desire to lose weight before I leave (I leave in 30 days from now).


I've continued so far, by doing my routine this morning, and by pseudo-restricting my diet to 2 meals a day, and each one is going to be portion-controlled, and healthy.


My weight has gone up by 0.x pounds - I need to continue losing, not gaining. 


I visualize weighing less tomorrow!!!!!!!


Since my annual checkup last month was good, I'm generally feeling good about my health; however.....


My blood panel showed a mildly alarming glucose level, which is within the range called "pre-diabetic."


REALLY??????  I guess I need to take it seriously, even though the reading was at the lower end of the range called "pre-diabetic."  So now I'm more conscious of what I'm eating and how much I'm exercising.


Hence,  my new program to lose weight and eat healthier.  I'm on Day 10


The "Internet" tells me that if you're "pre-diabetic" you should:


  1. ✅Eat healthy foods:  a diet high in fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains and olive oil
  2. ✅Exercise more.
  3. ✅Lose excess weight (that's part of my plan)
  4. ✅Quit smoking  (never started)
  5. ✅Take meds as needed.

The list is posted on my dresser mirror.


So far, I've done MOST of the above for  10 days.  YAY!!  I'm visualizing success!!

Read for 80 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says global peace is inevitable due to various changes:  communication, nuclear weapons are 2.  But today, I wonder if Harari would write the same paragraph:  These "global peace factors" do not seem to deter Putin of Russia, or Hamas/Israel from conducting serious warfare against others/eachother.

I'm guessing that ULTIMATELY, Harari will be proved to be right.  We can no longer maintain the kind of independence we've had for the last 200 years; our economies and cultures are intertwined.  We have (enjoy?) instant communication & "news."  We are slowly (or quickly?) becoming a global culture without borders.


Read for 80 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He recalls more of the happy times the First Family had with their friend and their gym coach.  He acknowledges that Michelle was more focused on physical health than he; in fact, he struggled with stopping smoking even after the election, which he'd thought would be the time to do it.
