I visualize weighing less tomorrow.

NOTE:  I'm doing "well" since I spent 30 days in Utah chez Joe & Chrissy, and I pretty much ate whatever & whenever I wanted, and I did little exercise.

READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that the Project Gilgamesh (seeking to extend life expectancy to an a-mortal state (not "immortal" since a human being could meet with an accident that snuffs him out immediately)) is on-going by virtue of science development & increasing knowledge of the human body.

He then adds that science is not free of impediments (e.g., lack of money, religious objections, political implications, etc.), so the progress is slower than it could be.  Still some predict an a-mortal status by 2050.  (wow!)

Read for 1+ pages in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He recalls how things went as he selected his cabinet members, and specifically, his decision to ask Robert Gates (a Republican & Cold War Hawk) to stay on as BO's Secretary of Defense.  Gates accepted, bringing with him the Bush perspectives of the Iraq & Afghanistan wars.

My hunch is that BO ALSO did this to help smooth things over as a newly-elected Democrat & First Black President.  Perhaps he thought he'd have wider appeal with disgruntled Republicans.

Read for 1+ pages in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee.  He says there is a network (similar to the Internet) which God owns and uses to turn participants to him.  Both initiates and experienced participants will experience the flow of energy from God's network.

Read for 1+ pages in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt.  He says his 2001 book is about social intuition; he named it wrongly as "The emotional dog and its rational tail."  He should have used "The INTUITIVE dog...."  to avoid critic psychologists assessments (they still believed in the emotion-versus-cognition dichotomy) who said, merely from his title, that cognition exists & matters, and therefore think they've disassembled Haidt's theories.  But Haidt "replies," intuitions are a kind of cognition.

Read for 1+ pages in MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Viktor Frankl.  He says his therapy background helped him gain favor from his "CAPO" (the German guard in charge of his group of prisoners).  He was able to avoid the worst of the punishments, and in spite of his swollen legs and feet, his life was spared by the Capo, who eventually smuggled him into another group of prisoners.

Read (iPad) for 1+ pages in ULYSSES by James Joyce.
