READING
(continuing from Sunday)
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says things about IMAGINATION (v. FANTASY/AIMLESS DREAMING), stressing that IMAGINATION is a controlled process of connecting the inner world to the outer world.
Vaughan-Lee's tone is different in this chapter, and I didn't full absorb the message. So I will re-read it next time and make more detailed notes.
Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says the brain has a section that judges things based on sight and smell. He used fart spray in a survey on the street to see how people answered questions when they could smell farts, versus when they could not. Result: They were harsher judges of people who did questionable things, than were those who could not smell farts. (e.g., should cousins marry?)
Read for 70 seconds in MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Viktor Frankl. He recalls the prisoners using their IMAGINATION (HAH! serrandippity? - see WORKING WITH ONENESS above) to survive mentally; they cried and smiled a lot when they were able to remember the lives they had had before imprisonment.
