20191221 SAVERS for SATURDAY Winter SOLSTICE

NOTE:  I'm modifying my system to conform to a more true "Base-70" approach:  60 will be replaced by 70 in number of reps, and the time spent at each activity.  I'll set my timer for 80 seconds, so that 70 will be most likely achieved.

SILENCE

Tried to silence my brain/thoughts for 70 seconds.

READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that there is a universal language beyond "script" - it's NUMBERS.  We, the people of the Earth, use numbers (Arabic ones) to express almost everything we record.  This makes sense to me.

After having a prolonged period of using numbers to express almost everything, we now have reduced even that numbering system to a computerized binary system of 0 & 1.  This simplifies, but also complicates the recording process.  Were it not for the "lightning speed" at which this computer system operates, we would likely still be using the Arabic numbers system.

***************

Although so far, today has not been "David Day" as was thought possible yesterday...... I DID have a quite enjoyable experience waking up in my new bed this morning:

a.  I luxuriated on my "medium Karina mattress" and under my down comforter, accented by my down filled pillows.  I LOVE the feeling!  And today I noticed that my back pain is dissipating with each passing day.
b.  I received a call from my dear Lisa, who is like me in that she has both good and bad days; today was a good one for her, too.  She was exuberant about Christmas plans, and I, typically, said, "Whatever you'd like to do, I'll do."  I feel quite blessed by having 2 children (4), and 7 grandchildren.
c.  I checked my email, and there were THREE from David, about Paris' demerdage, the Winder Solstice, and the dire economic status of our country/world.  I will read them during the course of my Saturday morning.

Why is my writing so "formal" right now?  I suppose it could have something to do with binge-watching "The Crown" - all about British Royalty in the current era.  I feel the need to no only express my ideas grammatically accurately, but also to do so with a British flair, or some such.

My *sigh* today is a happier one.
