READING, WRITING

Read 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that in 1519, Cortes & his Conquistadores began obsessing with gold; the Aztecs could not imagine why, since gold was plentiful and mostly useless except for decorating things.  Cortes told the Aztecs (in Mexico) that he had an illness which could only be cured with gold.

Read 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says I should choose a platform from the 5 he's identified:
  1. Journalist
  2. Prophet
  3. Artist
  4. Professor
  5. Celebrity
He says that I could be more than 1, but likely not more than 2 or 3 at the most.  He also says that it really doesn't matter which one I choose.

I can see myself in each of these; no one of them jumps out at me as being the "one" I am.  Perhaps it's due to my age and/or the nature of my life experiences.

Since I have limited my reading to 70 seconds per day, it's difficult to maintain continuity.  Further, I have had two seriously long "gaps" this year, during which time I have not read anything at all.  So, IF (and it's a HUGE "IF") I were to continue from now on, to do my daily routine (including writing), it COULD POSSIBLY become clear to me which of the platforms I will settle on.

Right now, I believe I might turn out to be one of the first two:  Journalist, or Prophet.
