READING, WRITING

Read 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that cities developed in significant part due to specialization (e.g., doctors spent their entire day doctoring, while nearby cobblers spent their entire day making shoes).  Eventually they began to learn who did the best job at his/her trade, and so they began to barter.  But..... there had to be some sort of numeric value placed on each good or service, in order to make a fair exchange.  I can see that he's leading to coinage/monetary use.

Read 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says helping others => trust => permission => opportunity.  I agree with the concept.  How'm I gonna do this?

So today my routine was interrupted (during the push-ups) by a call from Joe.  He had some really good news, along with some OK news:

1.  They've passed on the house in Highland - it would have been a "project house" - i.e., a lot of fix up projects.

2.  They've heard that the dog/home owners whose dog bit Ada have homeowner's insurance (100K/300K), and so will be paying for Ada's medical bills, and also future plastic surgery & trauma counselling, if needed.

3.  COVID19 is rampant in Utah, and people are still pushing back against wearing masks.  He & family are being very careful, and he says he thinks Lisa & family are too.  He says Teresa is also wearing a mask wherever she goes.

I had a good feeling after talking to Joe.  All will be well.
