READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says, continuing his 2nd possible reason why males have dominated (i.e., "the scum of society"), that females have, for some unknown reason, more empathy and ability to see things from another's perspective.  He says males have less of that, and as such, logic would dictate that females would be better suited to leading roles in politics, business, and society in general.  But they have not been such (perhaps until now).

He continues to the 3rd possible reason that males have dominated:  evolutionary genes that have survived generations, and have contained the DNA/genes of males who have won against other males in winning the right to impregnate females.

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says (quoting Steve Jobs) "REAL ARTISTS SHIP."  I like that, too.  Unless I put my work out there, it won't be worth anything, except for the value of "messing around."

I'll take issue with that:  If I write regularly and DON'T put my work "out there," it will have still benefited me (and DOES, in fact, benefit me) in several ways:  grammatically, persistance, clarity of thought,

There's a minimal, subtle and almost "cheating" way I have already put myself (and my writing) "out there:"
My blogs are public.  It's not likely that anyone will read them unless I tell someone about my blog.  But what I've written here (over the last several years) IS PUBLIC.  I check regularly to see if anyone has opened any of my posts.  So far, no one has.

My new blog is only 1 day old, and yesterday, I didn't even write in it at all.  So my "first day writing" amounts to nothing.  I'm planning on writing today; we'll see if I do, and we'll see what I write.

But beyond actually doing the work..... I still have to take the next step in "putting my work out there:"  I have to tell someone about my blog.  After my first day of actually writing, I'll decide how to do that.
