READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He continues his discussion about how females, in general, sought help from others (males and/or other females) to raise their children. He wonders why SAPIEN females could not do (or could not have done) like elephants, where a strong matriarchal presence overpowers fighting, aggressive males. Same with Bonobos. But SAPIEN females have not done so.
Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins. He says that I should expect myself, after having written for the sake of writing for a while, to become frustrated and to feel as if I'm "shouting into a vacuum," or some such. I do not know that feeling now, and I'll be very happy if I never do.
But Jeff doesn't know me, and he is just hoping to forewarn me INCASE I should begin to feel that way, after I've written (or attempted to write) for a while.
We'll see.
Before I move on, some thoughts about July 4th, and the political mess Trump has created in our country. I am extremely patriotic, and I believe in democracy, freedom and the history/struggles we have undertaken to created a free country: The USA.
But our societal, racial and economic struggles are systemic are on-going to varying degrees. But one thing I know is true: We CAN NOT go back to ignoring them, as Trump apparently want's us to do.
Let's remove the emblems of the Confederacy, as we do the emblems of Naziism. Let's not rewrite history. Let's let those who did REALLY GOOD THINGS that united our country remain in our memory; let's honor them through statues and coins and flags. Let's let those who did REALLY BAD THINGS that sought to divide our country be confined to a paragraph or two in our history books.
I for one celebrate our hard fought for, and hard won FREEDOM from the tyranny of England. Let us now fight for the end to the tyranny of systemic and social racism of ANY kind. ALL lives matter. May God bless YOU, my friend, to WAKE UP and become a true freedom-loving American.
I'm wondering if I should post this on FB or elsewhere. Don't know just yet.
