VISUALIZATION
191.8

Yesterday, I weighed  193.2
Today, I weigh           191.8 (-1.4)

I visualize weighing less tomorrow than I do today.  I'll help myself get there by eating/drinking:
  • 1/2 cup cold brew
  • 12 or fewer chips
  • 1/2 piece of gluten free cake

EXERCISE

Did my full base-70 routine for Wednesday, July 8, 2020:
  1. ankle/wrist circles 70
  2. toe/finger stretches 70
  3. bicycle crunches 70
  4. shoulder rolls 70
  5. push-ups 70 (35 + 35 (barely, but I DID them!)
  6. EPLEY R 2X (1 last night, 1 this morning)

READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He illustrates the point made earlier that cultures are full of contradictions, mostly self-imposed, by noting how in the Middle Ages, a wealthy baron might attend church in the morning, where he's told to be meek and humble and like Christ, and if he is not, he his shamed;  and then that evening might attend a gala feast where he's encouraged to kill his enemies and take their daughters for pleasure.  And if he does not, he is shamed.

I agree that this type of conflict can be unnerving.  I saw many during my years as an active Mormon.  I'm so very glad to have removed that needless burden from my life!  I can see clearly now!

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says that there are 2 camps about being a writer.  The first is illustrated by Ernest Hemmingway, who said that there is nothing to being a writer except sitting down at a typewriter, and BLEEDING.  IOW, it's an all-consuming thing.  You have to give it your entire life.

Well, I had thought I'd be being coached to actually BEGIN writing by now.  But Jeff Goins has more to say about how hard it is, apparently.  I'll find out what the 2nd camp is later.  But for now, Jeff, you've convinced me that it's HARD!

**********

Yesterday was both a down and up day.  It was down because Rodney's associated, Adam Cunningham, gave me the "news" that I don't qualify for a refinance of my income property because it shows a loss (a good thing for taxes, a bad thing for loans).  I thought he understood that, but I guess not.

The GOOD part of yesterday was that it was Elliot's birthday.  He's 9 - YAY!  I sure do love him & hope the best for him.
