READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He puts forth the idea that every culture, even those in isolation and/or environmentally stable conditions, will change.

(DUH)

The changes will necessarily be a result of internal contradictions, which are inevitable, even under man-made cultural norms.

(DUH)

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He tries to let his readers know that they had better LOVE writing.  No one told him how hard it would be, or if they did, he doesn't remember.  But he's telling me now.

He says if I don't LOVE it, I'm better off quitting now.  But if I DO love it, then the world is desperately waiting for my words, and he hopes I won't quit.

I don't know this Jeff Goins.  But I'm going to try to be his friend, and let him be my mentor through this.

Right now, I think I DO love writing.  I do it every day.  I'm careful with my words.  And I've proved over the last few days that I have something to say:  1.  Black Tee Shirt, 2.  Rebuttle to Ron Thornton's FB post about Trump.  I've taken chunks of time during the day to write coherent stuff about each.  I am (or will be) satisfied after many edits that they're good enough to publish on my blog, and to send to Ron.
