VISUALIZATION
189.0 Today's weight
187.6 Yesterday's weight
+1.4 (YIKES!!!!)
I visualize weighing less tomorrow.
Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
- I already have everything I need.
- George tells me that if a person can stand on one foot for X seconds/minutes, then s/he will likely live longer.
- I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose approx 0.5 pounds every day, I should be down to approx.
180 by May 15th.
Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:
- Diet: I had two meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am; and 2) mac'n'cheese frozen dinner + 1 slice dry toast + chips + 1 fig newton (covered with peanut butter) for dinner at around 5:00 pm
- I did not eat anything between these meals (approx 16 hours fasting)
- I exercised (full routine - see below)
- It's May 2nd, and I weigh (199.0 - 10.0) 189.0
GRRRRRRRRRR - I GAINED weight from the mac'n'cheese & the other stuff!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!!

READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says (in late 1700s) Webster and Wilson calculated longevities of ministers, and they were amazingly accurate. IOW, they were able to predict the money accumulated in paid-ins, totalling x pounds, to within 1 pound. It proved that 1) you could have a reasonable retirement as a Scotish clergyman, and 2 you could predict length of life and who will die when. They took into account paying in, widows, widowers, orphans, 2nd marriages.
Read for 70 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He recalls saying goodbye to his grandma (Toot) and going back to DC (campaign office?), where he was doing all he could. His last speech was preceeded by a phone call saying Toot had passed. He mentioned Toot in his speech, saying we all have "unknown heroes" who support us - and so was Toot for BO.
Election day, if you're the candidate, brings unusual silence in offices, and waiting.
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says freedom & love are evident when we live life which includes pain AND joy. We can't experience true living until we "step outside the limited parameters of our defined life, and embrace the vaster totality of which we are a part." IOW, he's saying the same thing again. Repetition is warranted because I still don't understand it completely.
Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says at UVA, he began his time there by doing research in "load v. judgment" processes. He gave some a light load, and others a heavier one. All groups produced the same results with regard to moral judgment. IOW, moral judgment was independent of the circumstances, even if the subjects were time-constrained.
Read for 70 seconds in MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Viktor Frankl. He says the transport were greeted by red-cheeked well fed other prisoners; Frankl and his immediate fellow prisoners thought that they might also become so well-treated ("delusion of reprieve" - a psychological term used for the moments just before execution, prisoners think they might be spared.)
Listened for 25 min in ULYSSES by James Joyce.👌
