198.6 Yesterday's weight
196.4 Today's weight
-2.2
I visualize weighing less tomorrow.
Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
- I already have everything I need.
- The death of Michael Harrington tells me my health is paramount for working with David - SOON!
- I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose approx 0.5 pounds every day, I should be down to approx.
194 by June 3rd.
Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:
- Diet: I had XXXXX meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am;
and 2) frozen dinner + 2 slice buttered & jam toast + chips + X fig newton (covered with peanut butter & or jam) + pickle & cheese sandwich for dinner at around ALL DAY pmUGHHH I did not eat anything between these meals (approx 10-12 hours fasting)- I exercised (full routine - see below)
- It's May 30th, and I weigh (199.0 (on 0328) - 2.6) 196.4

READING, WRITING
Read for 1 page in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says that science played a major role in WWI, and an even larger role in WWII: The Manhattan Project (atomic bomb development, assisted in part by my uncle Ivan Taylor), and today, drones and brain evaluations will lead to stopping terrorism.
Read for 1 page in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He recalls how his & his family's lives changed during the time he won the election & before he moved to the WH: with all the security needed to protect him, his neighborhood became a "private ghost town." And then he had to set about forming his government.
He gives the stats of who he had to help him, as follows:
* 3,000,000 + people employed by the Federal Government (civilian and military)
* 2-3,000 people are political appointees, serving "at the pleasure of the President"
* <100 people are senior officials and aides
* "handful" of people were in regular contact, served as his eyes, ears, hands & feet (managers, executors, facilitators, analysts, organizers, team leaders, amplifiers, conciliators, problem solvers, flack catchers, honest brokers, sounding boards, constructive critics, loyal soldiers)
With these poeple in place, President Obama would then be prepared to:
* articulate a vision for the country
* set a direction for the country
* promote a healthy organizational culture
* establish clear lines of responsibility
* establish measures of accountability
The key position - and the most vital to be filled by the right person - was his CHIEF OF STAFF
Read for 1 page in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says that magic is the key to the real excitement of living. We have in general traded our magic for science; rather, we should allow magic to flow in our lives such that the real power & meaning of living is evident. He says the magic is of God, and we have the opportunity at any time to partake of the magic.
MY NOTE: I thought as I read this passage that the "magic" is similar to what I used to think of as "the Priesthood of God," an actual spiritual substance that might flow through me. Perhaps Joseph Smith partook of some of that "magic of God" and called it the priesthood.
Read for 1 page in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says psychologists evolved their thinking about behavior & morality into 2 kinds of actions people take:
1) "seeing-that" is when a person automatically patterns his/her behavior (e.g., sees sugary food, stops and eats it)
2) "reasoning-why" (aka "intuitive thinking) is when a person contemplates why s/he is taking a particular action, and explains it to him/her self, or someone else.
Read for 1 page in MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Viktor Frankl. He explores the psychology of being an Auschwitz prisoner. The men contemplated suicide, but he did not, at least, not for long. The desire to live was stronger. He quotes Dostoyevski: "a man can get used to anything." He and his fellow prisoners add, "but don't ask us how."
Listened for 20 minutes in ULYSSES by James Joyce.👌
