VISUALIZATION
190.4 Today's weight
I visualize weighing less tomorrow.
Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
- I already have everything I need.
- George tells me that if a person can stand on one foot for X seconds/minutes, then s/he will likely live longer.
- I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose approx 0.5 pounds every day, I should be down to approx.
180 by May 17th.
Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:
- Diet: I had two meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am; and 2) frozen dinner + 2 slice buttered & jam toast + chips + X fig newton (covered with peanut butter & or jam) + pickle & cheese sandwich for dinner at around ALL DAY pm
- I did not eat anything between these meals (approx 10-12 hours fasting)
- I exercised (full routine - see below)
- It's May 5th, and I weigh (199.0 - 8.6) 190.4

READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says that over the last 500 years, STATISTICS have replaced THEOLOGY in advanced academia. Even the fields of psychology, etc include an emphasis on statistics to help us evaluate the progress of humankind in various aspects of study & understanding.
Read for 70 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He recalls election night, November 2007, when he was elected President. He recalls being with his family & campaign staff, and how both surprised and excited they all were. He worried that the actual events might be overshadowed by photos & videos of the night.
But what is glaringly missing is how BO was actually feeling about being President, and about being the first BLACK President. Maybe he'll get to that.
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says there is no purpose to this journey (of life); "again and again, we are made and remade, thrown into the torrents that undo us, the silence that deepens us, the love that melts us." Eventually, we realize that we ARE the ocean (or the earth). And also eventually, love claims us for its own.
This seems a bit flowery of speech, but I do get the idea. It's helpful to me right now to know that although I had a 2-day shipwreck (Tuesday & Wednesday), I'm still alive and swimming/sailing somehow.
Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says he conducted 2 further studies:
1) subjects were asked to sip apple juice which had been dipped into by a sanitized cockroach while they watched. Only 23 % were willing to sip the juic.
2) subjects were asked to sign away their soul to the person conducting the experiment, in exchange for $2. Only 37 % were willing. Some were atheist, but still wouldn't sign.
Haidt says there wasn't much dumbfounding in these studies; the people sometimes stated that they "just didn't want to do it."
Read for 70 seconds in MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Viktor Frankl. He says upon arrival at the camp, they got off the train, and were "greeted" by a man in uniform who began to divide them into 2 groups - "left" and "right" by means of pointing left or right with a finger.
Listened for 25 min in ULYSSES by James Joyce.
