READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He points out that an explorer of the 1300s, a man named Battuta from Tangiers (Morocco) travelled extensively in and around Afro-Asia.  By several centuries later (by 1800s), all of today's world had been visited by others; there were no more "authentic" (meaning "untouched by others") human cultures left on the planet.

OK, I accept that too.

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says I should by now be wondering if I'm "ready" to go to work.  If I'm still afraid, unsure, etc, that's not the issue.  Those feeling will come and go over time.  The issue is FEAR - FEAR of starting.

He advises me to remember that my readers are also struggling with the same issues, and if I present myself as honest, asking questions, then they'll warm up to me.

He says that my readers are my platform.  Hmmmmm.  So it's the readers, but it's also the medium (podcast, youtube, blog).

OK.

**********

I thought that if I started my routine by 6 am, I'd be done with it, and ready to shift to writing by 7 am.  But I'm already over that - it's 7:10 am.  Well, I will still report to work.
