SILENCE
Tried to silence my brain for 70 seconds; I mostly counted & thought of the ways I'd adjust my financial status come May 1, and June 1.

READING, WRITING
Read 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says the conquering empires were unable to maintain their roots exclusively: they necessarily adopted many aspects of their conquerees.
I'm troubled that Harari refers to the United States as "Imperial" since democracy does not invade and conquer and acquire Third World countries and/or dictatorships.
Read 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins. He says fans and friends are basic to our nature, but PATRONS is likely a new concept. It was for him earlier, and having patrons is a new concept for me now. Again I think of Dennis Kelsch, who could be a friend, a fan, and a patron for me. We writers need patrons to recommend our writing to others. So..... I might begin by contacting Dennis and saying, "Hi friend. I enjoyed reading your "DAD'S PRIMAL SCREAM." Are you still writing it? (yes) Great. I will read more of it, and I will recommend it to my friends (I'm HIS patron). And then, I'll tell him I have a blog, and would like it if he could critique my latest writing (about Tee-Shirts). Maybe this is how I get started.
Read 1+ page in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He recalls that his white grandmother (Toot) taught him much of what shaped his life views. The one that stands out to me is, " she taught me to marry passion with reason."
He also learned business basics, and hard work from his grandmother. And when his mother brought hom a black man to dinner, she taught him how to overcome racism: "There is not a black, white, brown, Asian America. There is a UNITED STATES of America."
Now, 4+ years since BO left office, we have still not learned this to the point of living a united social behavior (e.g., George Floyd's murder by a white police officer). But perhaps we took some steps through Obama's presidency, and perhaps we're now taking further steps. I certainly hope so.
Read 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says in times past, individuals were required to progress to a certain "step" or "level" before they could fully become productive Children of God. But that has now changed. Each individual must necessarily continue her/his progress individually, but can now simultaneously take part in the collective progress of the earth without fear of getting lost. IOW, individual and collective paths are now both open and flowing.
I think that's what he's saying. I get the sense that it will continue irrespective of any individual's misstep or fear; that the work will progress while addressing those seemingly obstructive setbacks. I'm also guessing that any I might have will be found to be illusions.
Read THE PERSIAN BOY by Mary Renault for fun!!
