READING, WRITING

Read for 60 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He compares the life spans of wild animals (e.g. chickens) to domesticated animals.  wild:domesticated = 12 years:3 months.  This is a tragedy for the animals, and I agree.  Domesticated animals are slaughtered after they reach their maximum weight; why keep feeding them after that?

While the number of animals has increased, their misery has also.

While I agree with Harari that this situation is a tragedy, and don't know how he can know assuredly that chickens today are the most "miserable" of creatures.

I'm inching toward become 100% vegetarian.  Maybe.
