SILENCE
Tried to silence my brain for 70 seconds by counting/visualizing huge numbers. Mild success.

VISUALIZATION
195.0 Yesterday's weight
194.6 Today's weight (YAY!!!!! I was expecting equal to or higher than yesterday)
-0.4
I visualize weighing less tomorrow.
Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
- David's D-Day will likely happen sometime between now and APRIL XX (who knows when - I certainly do not), and I want to be in as good of physical (and therefore mental) shape as I can be.
- George tells me that if a person can stand on one foot for X seconds/minutes, then s/he will likely live longer.
- I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose a pound every 1-2 days, I should be down to approx.
190 by April 22 (anniversary), and
186 by April 30th.
Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:
- Diet: I had two meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am; and 2) my steamed veggie dinner w/leftover icecream. around 4-5 pm.
- I did not eat anything between these meals.
- I exercised (full routine - see below)
- It's April 13th, and I weigh (199.0 - 4.4) 194.6
EXERCISE

READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says we study history to help us understand that our present situation is neither natural nor inevitable. There is no proof, he says, that modern-day Sapien life is "better" than any earlier Sapien life. And there is no evidence as to why Europeans conquered Africans.
Read for 70 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He recalls how he handled the buckeling economic woes vis-a-vis his campaign against McCain; he was able to distance himself from Bush the way McCain couldn't.
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says that we should be working with the "energy of the Tao," which, he says is to work with life eneregy. We might have weapons, but we do not use them. We go with the flow of life, learning how to use our tools in the best possible way (e.g., the butcher & his knife).
MY NOTE: I like this analogy; it seems to me that the butcher might sharpen his knife once a year (and not every month), and this is analogous to how I try to make things I have work for what I'm doing, rather than to go buy another model or a newer item, so that I can try some new procedure. There is room for both in my life.
Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says his studies led him to determine that Shweder is right, and Turiel is only half-right. "The size of the moral-conventional distinction varied across cultural groups." His example is that the working-class Brazilian children ascribed the same violation to 2 different example stories, while the upper-class Brazilian children, as well as ALL American children, distinguished between these 2 examples. The Brazilian children said it was wrong for the boy to push the girl off the swing, AND it was equally wrong for the boy to not wear his proper uniform to school.
Read for 1+ pages in AN AMERICAN FAMILY by Jon & Michael Galluccio.
Read for 1+ pages in THE PERSIAN BOY by Mary Renault.
