VISUALIZATION

193.4  Yesterday's weight

193.6  Today's weight

+0.2

I visualize weighing less tomorrow.

Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
  1. David's D-Day will likely happen sometime between now and APRIL XX (who knows when - I certainly do not), and I want to be in as good of physical (and therefore mental) shape as I can be.
  2. George tells me that if a person can stand on one foot for X seconds/minutes, then s/he will likely live longer.
  3. I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose a pound every 1-2 days, I should be down to approx.
190 by April 22 (anniversary), and
186 by April 30th.

Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:

  1. Diet:  I had two meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am; and 2) my TJ's frozen (Indian) dinner, w/chips & corn salsa around 4-5 pm.
  2. I did not eat anything between these meals.
  3. I exercised (full routine - see below)
  4. It's April 15th, and I weigh (199.0 - 5.4) 193.6

EXERCISE

Did my full base-72 routine for Friday, April 15, 2022:

  1. ankle/wrist circles 72
  2. toe/finger stretches 72
  3. bicycle crunches 72
  4. shoulder rolls 72
  5. inversion table 1 1.5 min set
  6. EPLEY MANEUVER 1Ram
  7. ball/wall 15
  8. angel/wall 15
  9. counter stretch 15
  10. flamingo R25, L30
  11. squats 36
  12. push-ups 36
Breathing:  I slept well last night, and w/mouth tape & CPAP, I got VERY good sleep.

READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that humanities scholars disdain memetics, and rather utilize "discourse" as the element of human societal evolution in the 19rh & 20th C.  They rather call it "post-modernism."  But whatever it's called, it's a virus that infects cultures.  It has no self-awareness.  It can be illustrated by the war games countries (cultures) play:  they are always one-upping eachother to gain advantage over the other; when it's evaluated, it's of little value and of great expense (funds that could have been used for humanitarian purposes).

Agree.

Read for 70 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He recalls dealing with 1) his positioning against his rival McCain, 2)  the looming economic crisis, and 3) his debate prep, which took 3 days in a hotel, complete with an exact replica of the coming debate, stage, lighting and all.  He practiced every word & turn of phrase in getting ready.

Wow.  I'm not so sure this is good prep for a campaign, but with the news yesterday that the GOP would not participate in debates for 2024, I'm fearful that our system of government is in even graver jeopardy that I had thought.  I hope some GOPs will step up & reverse these undemocratic trends.  Debates are monitored by the media, which Trump called "the enemy of the people."  AAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee.  He says I should NOT relate to life as an "adversary" - something I do occasionally (e.g.,  I sometimes think "f*** this life!!" when things don't flow smoothly).  Rather, I ought to allow myself to flow with life, and learn from the lessons it teaches me.

Agree, although I have been striving to do this more and more, of late.

Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt.  He says Turiel was limited in his analyses; Shweder was expansive:  he examined cross-cultural morality questions, and found that there were, in fact, differences among them.  Haidt sides with Shweder.

A humorous game of "what if" is given as an illustration of how to interview:  a boy & his dad in a rest room at the urinal; the boy asks what would happen if he pooped in the urinal, the sink, at home, and if everybody did it...... funny.  But I think the boy was merely exploring his what-if imagination.  I don't know if he was actually developing and/or discovering his morality.
