VISUALIZATION
191.8 Today's weight
192.6 Yesterday's weight
-0.8
I visualize weighing less tomorrow.
Reasons I'm AGAIN motivated are
- David's D-Day will likely happen sometime between now and APRIL XX (who knows when - I certainly do not), and I want to be in as good of physical (and therefore mental) shape as I can be. For now, I have everything I need.
- George tells me that if a person can stand on one foot for X seconds/minutes, then s/he will likely live longer.
- I feel better overall when I'm doing my exercises regularly
So, if I lose a pound every 1-2 days, I should be down to approx.
190 by April 22 (anniversary), and
186 by April 30th.
Here's how I've done during the last 24 hours:
- Diet: I had two meals yesterday: 1) my smoothie & coffee around 10-11am; and 2) Frozen pot-pie (Boomerang) + chips & salsa at around 3:30 pm, and then 1 small apple w/peanutbutter + 1 fig newton at around 6:30 pm. NOTE: I'M AMAZED THAT I ACTUALLY LOST 0.8 pounds between yesterday morning and this morning!!!!!!!
- I did not eat anything between these meals (approx 15 hours fasting)
- I exercised (full routine - see below)
- It's April 20th, and I weigh (199.0 - 7.2) 191.8

READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says there are 3 significant dates when Sapiens changed the course of history (actually, or potentially):
1674, when Van Leeuvenhoek first saw microorganisms in a drop of water, through his microscope
1945, when scientists detonated the first atomic bomb, giving Sapiens the ability to end life on earth.
1969, when man first left the surface of the earth & stepped onto the moon, having stayed here since the beginning of evolution (i.e., for 4 B years)
Read for 70 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He remembers his first meeting in the WH when WBush called together the 2 candidates, along with reps from the House & Senate, to discuss TARP. Bush gave BO a chance to make a statement about yea or nay to TARP. Nancy Pelosi gave BO the floor to give the Dems opinion: BO discussed the pros & cons of a bailout v. an insurance plan v. the outright purchase by the gov't of the bad mortgage bundles...... and warned that if the GOP were to change any of the particulars, the Dems might back out & they wouldn't have the votes. Bush gave the floor to McCain, who demured, saying he'd "wait for his turn" later in the meeting. There followed a moment of strained silence that BO says is quite rare: a moment when all is silent in a group of politicians/government leaders.
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. He says that we experience love (or joy), and many times it leaves us (for any possible reasons); we feel the loss, and yearn for its return. But joy, he says, is elusive and unpredictable. We feel it for any possible reasons, or unexpectedly for no apparent reason.
Read for 70 seconds in THE RIGHTEOUS MIND by Jonathan Haidt. He says "the gods" decided to give humans a soul, and it was contained in the head. But since it would have been humiliating to "roll around the uneven surface of the planet," the gods decided to give man a body. In the body, man was given a "2nd soul," which was full of passion and evil temptations. In order to separate the 2 souls, the gods gave man a neck.
Haidt says that PLATO (in Timaeus) said that passions ought to be governed by reason; HUME said that reason ought to be governed by passions. Plato even said that if a man did NOT govern his life by reason, he'd be reincarnated as a woman. (!!)
