Read for 80 seconds in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He says his first and subsequent summits taught him that the leaders of nations (notably the BRICS leaders) were not interested in participating in a global effort to promote and preserve democracy; they chose rather to conduct bilateral business with other countries when they were needed. BO focused more on Russia's Medvedev (Putin's lackey president) to respond to Putin's invasion of Georgia, and his general belligerence with regard to international post-war norms, nuclear agreements, etc.
