READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says since roughly 200 BC, the people of the Earth have generally lived under Empires.  But there are now 200+ independent countries.  Logically, it would seem that we will eventually become one Global Empire.  We are moving in that direction:  the people of the Earth more and more believe that THEY should be responsible for our general welfare, and not some other entity (Empire) with mostly their own needs in focus.

Amen to this!

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says I should BRAINSTORM WITH MYSELF, to come up with 3-10 of my best ideas for articles.  I should give them each a title.  I should then write 3 or so sentences describing what the article is about.  Then I should submit these "initial efforts" to publishers, AFTER having read in detail what the rules of submitting work are, for each one.

Read for 1 page + in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He recalls his tour of South Carolina, specifrically Charlottsville, which was alive with commerce.  And amid all that he also saw a "broken down excuse for a public school attended by Blacks" - which depressed him but also made him alive with resolve to help America do better.  He realized he was not running against Hillary, or Republicans.  He was running against entrenched racism, and the clear message within the Blacks population:  "whatever the American Dream meant, it was not meant for them."

Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewelyn Vaughan-Lee.  He says, in the section titled "GIVING ONESELF TO LIFE" that we must allow ourselves - as we are right now - to be given to God.  All that is required of us is "total participation."

So, I can see a parallel message in my real world:  I have been yearning for David's "money D-Day" message to arrive every day.  This book says I should rather give myself to God as I am right now, and he will take care of whatever is necessary/meaningful/productive to occur in my life and the Earth in general.

Makes some sense to me right now.
