READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says the Modern Global Empire (he wrote this in 2014 - prior to the Trump Dump and subsequent Biden Salvation ---- this makes me wonder how he is faring with his assessments as they apply to 2014-2021; we'll see.) is such that it would be impossible for States to be completely independent of each other.  (He calls countries "States")  He's right.  With our modern communication, no one State could be isolated and independent of ALL other States - we are increasingly inter-dependent for money, language, commerce, government, etc.

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says I should "widen my chances" for getting published by sending out numerous communiques to many publishers.  Then he gives 3 samples, which I will review tomorrow.

Read for 1+ pages in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He remembers how apprehensive he and his campaign were as they fought in the Primary in South Carolina; his staff told him that if they lost SC, their campaign would likely be over.  He said folks were advising him to drop out since if he won, he'd likely be shot, and that hope and change were wilting in the intense heat.  BUT THEY WON!  They won by greater margins than they'd predicted.

He attributes their success to recruiting grass-roots volunteers (v. the traditional middle-men & women who expected to be paid for their efforts).  The rally was filled with both Black AND White well-wishers.

Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewelyn Vaughan-Lee.  He says we must resist the temptation/tendency we may have of resisting, and give in to the ONENESS that is now here to stay.  We cannot isolate ourselves any longer.
I get this.

Read for 1+ pages in THE PERSIAN BOY by Mary Renault

**********

Today, I'm having a sort of "BR-INNER" Date with George.  My breakfast, his dinner, so Brinner.  And it's going to happen very soon.
