READING, WRITING
Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari. He says that prior to the Agricultural Revolution (12K BC - 8K BC), humans (hunters) were neither superior nor inferior to other animals: tigers killed humans to eat, but that didn't make them superior; humans killed sheep to eat, but that didn't make them superior.
But when the AR took place, farmers emerged, and they DID consider themselves superior to animals; they attempted to control sheep, etc., and use them for their own purposes.
Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins. He says if a publisher tells me "no" about a particular piece, MOVE ON - no begging! Just send it to someone else. Also, many famous writers have kept their rejection notices - and they got a LOT of 'em.
Read for 1+ pages in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama. He remembers how his campaign grew prior to "Super Tuesday" - growth that made him lonelier, since his campaign numbered over 1,000, and he didn't know the names of everyone who worked for him.
Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. I reviewed for the 3rd time the poem by Hafiz, who advises us to "Be" at the end. And he calls us "God's dead lovers" - a concept I sort of get, but it's bizarre. We must listen to the sounds made by the universe every day. Occasionally, we will make a sound that reverberates with the Universe. Be.
Read for 1+ pages in THE PERSIAN BOY by Mary Renault.
