READING, WRITING

Read for 70 seconds in SAPIENS by Yuval Noah Harari.  He says that early religions had no desire to convert the entire human race; it was approx 100 BC when religions first started to try to convert others; prior to that, religions were local and not missionary.

Eventually, religions became a revolutionary movement similar to empires and money.

Read for 70 seconds in YOU ARE A WRITER by Jeff Goins.  He says if I want to be successful, it is ON ME to keep my work at the forefront of the publisher's mind.  Keep in mind, I'm doing them a favor by following up with emails (calls?).  "Emails are my friends."

Read for 1+ pages in A PROMISED LAND by Barack Obama.  He recalls how Michelle played into the mainstream American Presidential campaign environment, where a black woman added another set of stereotypes that might, or might not be advantageous to BO's election chances. 

NOTE:  I LOVE how clear and forthright BO is in describing this situation; he is one of the most clear-thinking political leaders we have had; and he writes well, too.

Read for 70 seconds in WORKING WITH ONENESS by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee.  He says we need to join with the people of God to make his work move forward; he quotes Hafiz, poet, who says every day brings more insight into how we are doing this.
