READING, WRITING
Read 60 seconds in SAPIENS. The author speculates that early humans and early dogs began a bonding process that has lasted 15,000 (?) years. Dogs became source of comfort, of warning, and I forget what all else (even though I just read it).
The author didn't say "man's best friend" but I thought it as I read. I suppose that human + dog IS, in fact, a far stronger relationship than human + any other animal.
